Bowls of Caring - Final Year
JANUARY - MARCH
This is our final year for Bowls of Caring. We have been hosting the event since 2016 and while we have had a good time, we have decided to move on to other activities. In 2025, we will be hosting several large group events open to the public to use up remaining supplies and allow the community one last time to show off their creativity. Watch our Facebook page for dates and locations.
Awareness Activities
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
OCTOBER
Each year YWCA usually hosts a memorial event recognizing individuals lost to gender based violence and promoting education to prevent future violence. There are life size silhouettes, our Silent Witnesses, around town telling the stories of lives lost to violence. Purple lights, bracelets and community proclamations promote awareness in the community.
Sexual Assault
Awareness Month
APRIL
Each April, YWCA encourages individuals to wear teal ribbons or bracelets to promote awareness of the effects that sexual assault has on our community and our commitment to make a difference for future generations.
Run with the Badges
LAST SATURDAY IN APRIL
Come run or walk with the Rock Springs and Green River Police Departments, SWAT team, Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, Wyoming Highway Patrol and Sweetwater County Fire Department to help spread awareness for Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence.
